Is Mormonism an issue for you?
Was, but not now. Mitt nailed it by reiterating our history of tolerance and common values, with a bow to other traditions. "Symphony of faith" sounds good, and there's room for Mormons in it. And he said he'll swear in on a Bible. Thank God.
Was, and still is, now that he's used it to divide the country. His religion-equals-freedom formulation completely excludes Americans who are non-believers. What about freedom from religion? Mr. Romney, build back Mr. Jefferson's wall.
Wasn't, but now is. Romney's a Mormon? Don't they wear special underwear and believe that the Second Coming has been scheduled for Jackson County, Missouri? Too weird for me, except on HBO.
