If you haven’t heard, Second Life is a growing trend in the virtual-sim market. It’s not a game, not just a game I should say.
In SL, one uses an avatar to interact with the world. An avatar is a virtual representation of you. Except it doesn’t have to look like you. It doesn’t even have to have your name.
Linden has given the world a license to break free of the strictures of First Life. Not just individuals, but businesses, colleges, police and fire departments, and celebrities have entered SL and taken advantage of its unique opportunities.
One dollar US equals hundreds in-game, and the different types of currency are interchangeable.
Freebies and residents willing to help are all over the place. Guides, tips and tricks abound. SL is the place to “try before you buy”. You can even get married and have kids!
