The man who Italian magistrates believe is the Sicialian Mafia's new "boss of bosses" has been arrested a year after his predecessor was detained.
Salvatore Lo Piccolo from the Cosa Nostra group had been on the run for 23 years before he was detained on Monday along with his 32-year-old son, Sandro, and two other alleged mafia bosses.
The men were reportedly betrayed by one of Salvatore Lo Piccolo's closest lieutenants, Francesco Franzese, who was arrested in August.
Nicknamed Cosa Nostra ("Our Thing"), the mafia controls Sicily's economy as well as its political affairs.
