Cabo Verde Telecom is cheating their customers on a large scale

[Praia, 05.10.2007] The CV Telcom, the telephone company with a Monopole position in Cape Verde is cheating their clients on a large scale.

The method is explained easily: In Cape Verde, the CVT sells to approximately 5000 clients a DSL 1024 connection but in reality only a connection of approx. 200-250 KB is delivered. This practice gives the Telecom an approx. 4-5 times higher increase of income per client.

We've been trying to get a statement from the Telcom about this illegal method for months. Our inquiries per telephone, fax and letter have been left unanswered. Part of the time you cannot reach anyone there for weeks, if you finally reach someone from the service personell then the usual answer is "with the connection everything is fine" and "there are no problems", but "we can send a Technician by".
