The absence of a Canadian stop in the 2009 Formula One calendar may rob our racing roster of some of glitter, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of other races and events for motorsport enthusiasts to look forward to this coming season.

The 2009 season kicks off with the Victoria Day SpeedFest weekend at Mosport, May 15-17 with the SPEED World Challenge GT and Touring Car series, the Muscle Milk SCCA Trans-Am and Castrol Canadian Touring Car race series plus the traditional Sundown Grand Prix endurance event.

The weekend of June 19-21 will see Mosport stage the 30th annual International Vintage Racing Festival, a weekend crammed with both nostalgia and hard racing in a wide variety of historic machinery. The NASCAR crowd returns Aug. 8 for the Mosport Speedway 200.
