THE Eldorado community was out in force on Saturday for the official introduction of tennis court lights to Eldorado Centennial Park.

The lighting project had taken some five years to achieve, requiring more than $15,000 and a lot of voluntary labor.

It was assisted by a substantial donation from Folk, Rhythm and Life Festival organisers and fundraising efforts by involved park committee and tennis club members.

It is hoped the upgrade to the recreation reserve can boost local usage, with the Eldorado Tennis Club and firefighters the only regular users of the facility.

Saturday’s celebrations included a free community barbecue, made possible by Droughtbusters program funding from the Rural City of Wangaratta.
