Smoking has been under attack for years. Not only is it rare to find a bar or restaurant where you can light up in America, India is now moving to ban smoking in cars. In the U.S., some jurisdictions are considering bans on smoking in cars in which children are occupants. There are even efforts to ban smoking in private homes and on sidewalks.
Government schools are among the worst offenders. Some have banned kids from playing tag, dodge ball and even stories about pigs. In Seattle, one school has banned Legos. Don't ask me why. Even the wearing of certain colors is banned at some schools. Booing at school games is the latest endeavor under threat of a ban. New York is considering banning metal bats at school baseball games. Other districts are banning homework.
